Suspect faces charges in connection to Compass Cove shooting

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - One person has been charged following a shooting at Compass Cove hotel, according to Myrtle Beach police.

Police respond to shooting at Compass Cove resort in Myrtle Beach

Craig Tallambadge Williams, 45, was taken into custody in connection with an aggravated assault, according to a Myrtle Beach police report. Police say Williams was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The 39-year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, police said.   

Just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday, the Myrtle Beach Police Department posted the following message to its Facebook page:

Tonight we responded to the Compass Cove Resort for a report of a shooting in a motel room. There is one victim that suffered serious injury. We have one person in custody for questioning only at this time.
