Suspect traveling to bikefest charged after police find drugs, guns, money in vehicle

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Drugs, firearms and large amounts of money were recovered after a traffic stop conducted by the Darlington County Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Unit.

Christopher Jaymes Davis, 28, of Waxhaw, NC was arrested in connection to the crime, law enforcement officials say.

According to officials, police conducted the traffic stop on Highway 151 in the Hartsville area of Darlington County on May 22. A search revealed that marijuana, molly (MBMA), two handguns, and money were found in the vehicle, police say. Officials say Davis was en route to Myrtle Beach for bikefest.

According to police, Davis was charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, and possession with the intent to distribute MBMA. Davis' bond hearing will take place Saturday at 4 p.m., police say.
