Woman charged after 2 people shot and killed in Lumberton, police say

LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) – Two people were shot and killed, and a minor was injured after a verbal altercation turned deadly in Lumberton overnight Thursday, according to officials. A 30-year-old woman was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree murder for the incident.

Shawn Edward Bullard, 35, and Holly Beth Locklear, 34, were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds when Lumberton Police responded to an address on Elba Street at about 12:09 a.m. Friday, according to a news release from the Lumberton Police Department. A third person was treated at the scene for a minor injury, but his identity is being withheld due to his age, and because the injury is not life-threatening.

After an investigation that found the shooting began as a verbal altercation that turned deadly, 30-year-old Krendle Bryant, who lives on Elba Street, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

Her bond was set at $200,000 secured, and as of Friday afternoon, she is being held in the Robeson County Detention Center.
