'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' star arrested for public intoxication in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Nicholas Brendon, the 44-year-old actor who starred in the television series 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' and appeared in the series 'Criminal Minds,' was arrested for public intoxication Friday night in Myrtle Beach, according to Myrtle Beach Police reports.

Brendon, who played Xander Harris from 1996 to 2003 in the WB Network series, was one of the celebrities in Myrtle Beach over the weekend for the XCON World Comic Convention.

Brendon was arrested on the charge of public intoxication/impairment at 12 a.m. on May 16, in the 100 block of Kings Highway, according to police records.

At 6:35 p.m. Saturday, Brendon's official Twitter account tweeted: “We are not releasing any comments or statements regarding today's events. Thank you. -@andreaalbin”

At 9:39 a.m. on Sunday, Brendon tweeted a picture of himself in the ocean, along with the words: “Twatters I love you all. Healing waters of Myrtle Beach. We are all human.”

At 8:05 p.m. Sunday, he tweeted: “I'm not allowed to drink. I'm not allowed to swim in the ocean. What the f%#& am I allowed to do? #depressionisreal”

Brendon was arrested in March for damage to property and criminal mischief after a disturbance at a Tallahassee, Florida hotel, according to affiliate NBC Miami. He faced similar charges after an incident in February at a Fort Lauderdale hotel, and for a similar arrest at an Idaho hotel, the NBC Miami report states.
