MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Two men were arrested after attempting to steal items out of Walmart Saturday.

Police say Michael Anthony Thitchener, 25, and Marquis Lashaue Kelley, 24 were arrested in connection to the shoplifting incident.

According to a police report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department, law enforcement officials responded to the store located on 541 Seaboard Street around 11:45 a.m. Officials say Walmart staff told police two males selected items, removed tags from them, placed them into a cart and shielded the items with larger items. The suspects passed through all points of sale without paying, according to police.

According to police, when the suspects exited the store they were approached by Walmart's loss prevention staff, and one suspect was apprehended. Police saw the other suspect crossing Robert Grissom Parkway, and contact was made.

Police say one of the store's employee's positively identified the suspect, and the suspect was taken to the Myrtle Beach jail.

Thitchener and Kelley were both charged with shoplifting, officials say.
