MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Four teenagers have been arrested or detained after two cab drivers reported being assaulted and robbed early Thursday morning.

Witnesses provided information that the suspects in the robberies were staying in a house in the Race Path community of Horry County. With help from Horry County Police officers and investigators, the suspects were located, a search warrant was obtained, and evidence in the cases was collected.

Triana Small, a 17-year-old female, and three juveniles, ages 16, 15, and 13, were arrested or detained, confirmed Lt. Joey Crosby with the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

It was determined that the two robberies were separate incidents, but the suspects in each case were the same.

At about 3:37 a.m., officers responded to the Hess Wilco on Mr. Joe White Avenue in reference to a strong armed robbery. The victim, a taxicab driver, told police that four men asked him for a ride to Grey Street from Dick's Pawn Shop on Mr. Joe White.

When the driver reached Grey Street, one of the suspects grabbed his neck from behind and tried to choke him, the police report states. The driver was able to pull the suspect's hands from his neck, and all four suspects bailed out of the car and fled on foot. The driver sped off as he saw them coming back towards him. During the incident, the suspect stole his cell phone, valued at $300.

A few minutes later, at about 3:47 p.m., police responded to Pine Island Road and Ramsey drive, where another cab driver reported being assaulted and robbed by three males and a female.

He told police he was dispatched to Grey Street, and when he pulled up, he saw people hiding and running from his vehicle. They then jumped into his cab, and once he was at Ramsey Drive, one of the males tried to choke him out from behind, while another male began punch him. The victim gave the suspects his money, and they took his cell phone before jumping out of the cab.

Small is being charged as an adult, Crosby stated. She is incarcerated at J. Reuben Long Detention Center, charged with two counts of strong-arm robbery. Further personal information on the three unidentified suspects is being restricted, and they are going through the Family Court judicial process.
