Myrtle Waves to open this weekend, roll out new slide in June

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Myrtle Waves Water Park opens this weekend on Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17 from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Summer 2015 marks the 30th Anniversary Season as the park opened June 1, 1985.

The park will be celebrating throughout the season with various events and special promotions including the opening of a brand new slide, “The Rockin Ray!”

The Rockin Ray is an extreme water slide experience, one or two person ride, standing 39 feet 8 inches tall.

The open slide rocks you from one side to the other, then half way back and shoots you out to a pool. You must be over 48" to ride. The Rockin Ray is set to open in June. This is the first new slide to open since Arooba Tooba at the park in 2008.

The park will be open weekends through May 31st including Memorial Day, May 25 and open daily starting June 6.

General Admission pricing will include the next day free, said Rebecca Feagin, marketing manager.

The pricing at the front gate includes the following: 48” and up $26.99, Junior (under 48”) $19.99, Senior (age 55+) $11.99 and age 2 and under is free.

Online General Admission tickets are discounted $1 off the front gate price. In addition, parking is free.
