HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Crews from Horry County Electric were busy overnight clearing scattered outages caused by fallen tree limbs, and outages affecting about 160 customers were reported overnight in the Lake City area covered by Duke Energy Progress.

Most of the Horry County Electric Cooperative outages were caused by trees and tree limbs falling into power lines, according to a Facebook post from the company.

“Members are urged to continue to keep an eye on the weather as Ana makes slow progress through our area,” the post states. “All outages should be reported by calling 843.369.2212.”

Duke Energy Progress outages in Lake City were first reported at about 2:40 a.m. Sunday. About 162 customers around Lake City were affected at one time, but most outages were cleared by 6:45 a.m., according to the company's outage map.

A handful of Santee Cooper customers in Garden City and Little River were also without power Sunday morning, according to the company's outage map.

Other electric companies serving the area did not report any outages.
