GALIVANTS FERRY, SC (WMBF) – A woman accused of stealing items from the grave of a 1-year-old child was guilty of multiple charges in connection with this incident.

Janet Capps appeared for a bench trial on Tuesday, May 5, and was found guilty by a judge of two counts of petit larceny and one count of receiving stolen goods. For those cases, she was fined a total of $1,200.

Capps was also found guilty of an additional count of receiving stolen goods, but received credit for time served, according to court records. She was found not guilty in two additional receiving stolen goods charges.

Capps was accused of stealing items of remembrance from the grave of Kyliee Parker, who died late last year after accidentally being hit by a truck. Parker's family provided police with dozens of photos from a surveillance camera showing a woman taking the items from the grave.
