2 accidents with injuries reported on US-17 at Glenns Bay Road

HORRY COUNTY , SC (WMBF) – A car accident with injuries blocked part of Highway 17 near Glenns Bay Road Wednesday afternoon, according to officials.

The accident was blocking the right lane of Highway 17 Bypass Northbound between Holmestown Road and Glenns Bay Road, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 2:57 p.m., and does involve injuries.

At about 3:14 p.m., a second injury accident was reported on the southbound lanes of Highway 17 Bypass, just south of Glenns Bay Road. That accident was also reported by the SCDOT, but no road blockages were announced.

    An investigation is underway after two people were shot Saturday night in Marion, according to Marion Police Chief Dewayne Tennie. The two people were shot in front of a store at the corner of Bluff Street and Godbolt Street.
