Police arrest Loris man after he shoots security guard at Myrtle Beach bar

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Loris man was arrested following the shooting of a security guard at Danny's Sports Bar and Grill Sunday.

According to the Horry County Police Department, Dustin Peavy, 23, was arrested in connection to this incident on Monday, May 4. Peavy was charged with attempted murder, police say. 

A suspected shooter was on the run after a security guard was shot Sunday night, according to the Horry County Police Department.

The shooting happened at Danny's Sports Bar and Grill on April Gray Lane in Horry County just after 11 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect was being disorderly and was being escorted out of the bar when “he spun around and shot the victim in the upper right thigh area,” according to a police report.

Police say the suspect fled in a blue/green sedan with an unknown tag. Surveillance video showed “another possible Hispanic male driving the vehicle when the suspect fled the scene,” according to the report.
