HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A man told police he shot at a visiting friend and another man after they robbed him at gunpoint Sunday night. The men were apparently questioned by police after one of them was treated at a hospital for a gunshot wound, and told officers they were buying marijuana from the victim, who they claim shot at them after robbing them.

At about 10:45 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to an armed robbery in the 4800 block of Innisbrook Court, according to an Horry County Police news release. The victim, a 23-year-old man, told police that a visiting friend pretended to go to his car, then returned with a masked, armed accomplice, and the pair robbed them at gunpoint.

The victim told police that he grabbed a pistol and fired several shots at the suspects' vehicle as they drove off.

A short time later, a gunshot victim and another man, matching the suspects' description, appeared at a nearby hospital. They told police that they were buying marijuana from the 23-year-old victim when he robbed them at gunpoint and shot at them as they ran away.

The case remains under investigation, according to police officials.
