With all the recent high profile cases of police officers and their questionable actions with suspects, WMBF News uncovered a controversial local police chase caught on camera.
But the Horry County Police Department handled it exactly like it should have and it didn't take public outcry for the action.
The Police Chief immediately responded to our request for an interview and explained exactly why this officer was fired: he violated procedure.
Consider This: Nobody was killed, nobody was hurt and the violent suspect was caught…but the officer still didn't conduct himself the way that he was trained to, and for that he was let go.
Chief Rhodes also discussed new procedures, training and ongoing discussions they have with their officers to make sure they are focused on protecting our community, safely. It's great to see that level of professionalism and transparency.
