Seahawks set for postseason run

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach will be searching to make some school history in the upcoming. After winning a region title, they'll be trying to get to the Lower State playoffs for the first time since 2005.

Praise Thorsen will be on the mound for the opener, serving as the team's ace against Aiken. First pitch at Myrtle Beach High is set for 7:00 on Friday. At 8-2 in conference, the Seahawks claimed a region title and are poised to have sizeable home field advantage throughout the district bracket, and this time of year is specifically what Tim Christy and the Seahawks have been training for.

"You know we're going to have to come out and play clean baseball," said Christy, the Seahawks head coach. "(That means) Good at-bats, come out and play defense, throw strikes and we'll just see what happens. We've said all year this team is built for the long haul so we're in the long haul now and we're going to keep working forward, moving forward and we'll see what happens."
