BALTIMORE, MD (WMBF) - Former NFL Baltimore Raven Ray Lewis berated rioters and pleaded with kids to get off the street following chaos in Baltimore.

The eruption came after days of protests over Freddie Gray, who mysteriously died on April 19, a week after Baltimore Police arrested him.

“No way, no way, no way this can happen in our city,” Lewis said at the start of the video posted to his Facebook page.

“Kids get off the street; violence is not the answer,” he continued.

“We know there's a deeper issue...We know what the jungle looks like. Baltimore get off the streets. Kids, go home!”

Lewis went on to say:

Too many hard-working people built this city. We put this city on our back.

Lewis admitted there is a problem, but said “rioting in our streets is wrong...It's dead wrong.”
