Mother begs for answers as the anniversary of daughter's death approaches

"I feel like, my life, I have to go on in memory of Amber. Last year, I had said I wanted to celebrate her life, but I haven't been able to do that. I've been mourning," said Michelle Robinson, Amber's mother. "I feel like, my life, I have to go on in memory of Amber. NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The mother of Amber Berbiglia recalls her daughter's murder, and is begging for the investigation to continue, even though leads have become cold.

In a statement from the Horry County Police Department, they say they've exhausted every lead they've had, but the case remains open.

"Amber Berbiglia's body was found under the west end of the Robert Edge Parkway on Sandridge Road in North Myrtle Beach, May 3, 2013. Horry County Police Detectives have exhausted all leads in the investigation of Amber Berbiglia's murder. Our thoughts are with her family as another anniversary approaches. The case remains open and detectives are hopeful that this anniversary of her murder will produce new information or leads that could result in an arrest in this case. Anyone with information, on this case, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, is asked to call our Tip Line at 843-915-TIPS (8477)."

Amber's mother, Michelle Robinson, says her wound is still open.

"It's very hard for a mother, to lose a child, especially by murder," Robinson said.

The body of 23-year-old Amber Berbiglia was found on May 3rd, 2013. Amber suffered blunt trauma to the head.

With no suspect in custody, and another anniversary approaching, her mother stood in front of a garden dedicated to the life of her daughter, realizing she is not ready to move on yet.

"I feel like, my life, I have to go on in memory of Amber. Last year, I had said I wanted to celebrate her life, but I haven't been able to do that. I've been mourning," Robinson said.

"Not a day that doesn't go by, that tears don't come to my eyes, because I miss her," she explained.

Just weeks before her death, Amber and her mother had picked out the perfect wedding dress. She was engaged, and finishing up school. Her friends say Amber had the best years of her life ahead of her.

"I just miss her so much, she could have done so much, in her life, and somebody just took it all away," Karen Ritchie said. Ritchie was a close friend to Amber.

While Amber's loved ones are trying to restore their faith, they can't help but question who would have wanted to harm someone like Amber.

"Was it someone that was jealous of her, was it someone who knew her? I just, I don't understand the whole thing," Robinson wondered.

What her loved ones do understand, is that Amber's killer is still out there, and somebody knows something.

"I believe detectives don't know what - don't know which way to go, and somebody needs to tell them. I want to talk directly to who did this. There's going to be a judgement, and I'm not your judge, but you're going to see a judge, whether or not at the end, and you can either be judged in this lifetime, and pray for forgiveness for being a murderer, or you can wait and be judged by God," Ritchie said.

Right now, Amber's mother and loved ones are seeking justice for Amber.

They have started a petition, hoping to restore the investigation and bring in new leads.

A vigil will be held for Amber this Sunday, May 3 on the anniversary of her death.
