Pedestrian struck and killed by vehicle near Hemingway

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A pedestrian was struck and killed when a vehicle ran off the road in Williamsburg County, near Hemingway, Monday morning, South Carolina Highway Patrol officials confirmed.

At about 7:30 a.m. Monday, a 2010 Lincoln car was traveling east on Muddy Creek Road when it ran off the roadway and curb, and struck a pedestrian who was standing in a yard, according to Corporal Sonny Collins with the SCHP.

Yvette Davis, 38, was identified as the driver in this incident. No charges have been filed at this time, and the crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.

WMBF News has reached out to the Williamsburg County Coroner's Office multiple times for the identity of the victim in this case.
