MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A 51-year-old Myrtle Beach man has been arrested after allegedly dragging a woman into an apartment at knife point and sexually assaulting her, according to a Myrtle Beach Police report.

Norris James Ross was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center Wednesday and was charged with kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct, according to jail records.

The victim told police that on Saturday evening, she was walking from a friend's house in Willow Run to Bumstead's Pub, when they encountered a man who asked her if she wanted to have a cigarette. When she agreed, he held a knife to the woman's neck, and dragged her into an apartment on the corner of Graham Avenue and Dunbar Street, according to the police report. He then sexually assaulted her, the report states.

When she was let go, she ran outside and encountered a woman who asked her what happened. The woman then told the victim she “should not be in this area,” the report states.

On Sunday evening, the victim's friend convinced her to speak to officers about the incident. Detectives gathered the necessary information, took a picture of an abrasion on her foot allegedly caused by the offender, and took the victim to a nearby hospital to complete a criminal sexual conduct kit.
