Suspect surrenders to police after Florence stabbing

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – A suspect accused of stabbing a man in Florence turned himself into police.

According to Major Carlos Raines with Florence Police, Rodney Bethea surrendered to law enforcement Friday.

Florence named the suspect accused of stabbing the man Thursday.

An attempted murder warrant was issued for Bethea. 

Bethea was driving south on Commander Street and saw the victim, police said. 

Bethea got out of the vehicle, approached the victim before the two got into a fight, according to police.

Bethea then stabbed the victim in the chest, according to Major Raines.

Tim Compton with Florence Police said the stabbing happened on Palm Street, but the victim traveled to Dargan Street.
