Community leaders participate in local, state rallies to put prayer back in schools

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Local and state rallies will occur in April to promote putting prayer back in schools.

The local Put Prayer Back (PPB) rally is schedule for Sunday, April 19 at New Ebenezer Baptist Church in Florence. There will be a pre-show at 5 p.m. and the rally will begin at 6 p.m. The state rally will take place on the steps of the State House on 1101 Gervais Street in Columbia on April 25, beginning at 11 a.m.

Guest speakers, musicians, religious leaders, and politicians are expected to appear during the rallies, according to officials.

There have been PPB rallies in Darlington and Florence Counties. Florence County School District One board member, Pat Gibson Hye-Moore is a leader of the Put Prayer Back in Our Schools initiative.
