Outreach committee to host dedication event for Murrells Inlet sculpture made of recycled materials

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) - The Community Outreach Committee is hosting a dedication event for a sculpture made from recyclable materials.

The event for the recycled pelican sculpture will be held on Earth Day (April 22) at the Morse Park Landing at 4 p.m. According to a press release from the committee, the sculpture was built by Jim Swain, a local artist of Environmental Sculptures.

The sculpture is six feet wide, three feet high, and contains recyclable materials to serve as a reminder to keep the state clean, according to officials.
