Suspect in Georgetown church burglary arrested

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – A suspect wanted for several burglaries, including one from a church, was arrested in the Andrews area on Thursday.

Wendell Alfonso Brown, 26, of Hazard Street, was wanted in connection a burglary at the Rice Paddy on Front Street, and three burglaries at St. Mary's Catholic Church, according to a news release from GPD. Four burglary warrants were issued for his arrest.

On April 30, Brown was taken into custody by agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and was turned over to Georgetown Police Department custody, according to an updated from GPD.

The department offered a $500 reward for information that would have led to his location and arrest.
