Grand Strand Flea Market now open for business

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Grand Strand Flea Market is now open for business.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Wednesday to celebrate the reopening of the flea market.

Recently, the Myrtle Beach Flea Market, now known as the Grand Strand Flea Market scaled down in size in the Glenmark Center shopping center, leaving a big space up for grabs.

The former Myrtle Beach Flea Market closed back on February 28.

When it closed, some of the vendors were concerned about their income.

"This is their only income.. If this place has closed, their families and them would be out of income and so forth.. so it's not a good idea. So we're keeping it opened and it's in a prime location, so that's why we think this is going to be even better than it ever was," said Marty Keene, owner.

The flea market reopening under new ownership isn't the only growth for the shopping plaza.

The main building of the former Myrtle Beach Flea Market is available to rent.
