BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - Numerous tips and complaints from the community prompted an investigation by agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Drug Enforcement Unit which led to the several arrests, including three Little River suspects.
India Bowen, 22, of Amber Lane in Little River, was charged with PWIMSD a Schedule I Controlled Substance (MDMA or "molly"), manufacturing a Schedule I Controlled Substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Following the arrest Monday, she was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Facility and held under a $10,000 bond.
In a separate incident, Preston Antellio Bessent, 25, of Old Crane Road in Little River, was arrested Friday for conspiring to sell heroin, PWIMSD heroin, selling heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed gun.
Bessent was detained in the Brunswick County Detention Facility under a $1 million bond.
Arrested during that same incident Friday, Stephen Daniel Ostroski, 30, of Highway 50 in Little River, was also charged with conspiring to sell heroin.
He was transported to the the Brunswick County Detention Facility, and held on a $10,000 bond.
Both of these arrests occurred following a traffic stop on Country Club Road in Calabash.
Nearly 70 bundles of heroin were seized as a result of the arrest.
