CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - The Conway Police Department responded to Franks Theatre Saturday night in response to a call of a fight and then possible shots fired at around 10 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found no evidence or victims of a shooting.
Police said they stayed in the area while the businesses closed to help monitor traffic leaving the parking lots.
"When we arrived Saturday night to investigate the call for service about a possible fight in progress and/or shots fired, we observed the normal crowds in this area and we started speaking with people on scene," said Lt. Selena Small.
The police said they searched the area for witnesses that may have seen a shooting, victims and evidence.
"No evidence or victims were located and we did not locate anyone that observed first-hand what may have occurred," Small said.
Police said no threat was located on scene, while people in the parking lots in the area were still hanging out and the movie theatre was still operational.
"After speaking with business owners of the businesses that were closing, we assisted with helping clear out the parking lots so that crowds were not gathering at closed businesses late at night," Small added. "We have followed up with anyone that we could speak with that was verified as being on scene and as of today still have not located any victims of a shooting."
If anyone has information that would be helpful with what was initially reported they are encouraged to contact Conway Police Department.
