MBPD: Two men rob victim at gunpoint

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Sunday night two men were arrested for allegedly robbing a man a gunpoint.

Myrtle Beach police officers were flagged down by the victim who stated two men came up to him on 5th Avenue North and asked him if he wanted to go with them to a party around 9:30 p.m., according to the report.

The report also states that when the two suspects and victim began walking to the party, one of them put a gun against the back of the victim's head. The victim was able to knock the gun out of the suspect's hand and escape, but the suspects caught up to him.

The suspects stole the victim's phone, along with other personal items, then ran off.

Police were able to detain two possible suspects a short distance away from where the robbery occurred. The victim positively identified the suspects and police recovered his stolen items and a handgun.

The two suspects were arrested and transported to jail. This investigation is still ongoing.
