PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) – Some people on Pawleys Island have experienced a cable outage after an underground fiber cable was cut.
Efforts are underway to restore a Frontier Communications underground fiber cable that was cut by a local utility contractor on February 12, said Dan Page, communications manager.
"Frontier crews are working diligently to restore service, and we will stay on the job as long as necessary," Local Manager Tracy Fryar said. "We certainly regret that our customers are experiencing this inconvenience as the result of the actions of a third-party contractor."
Fryer said Frontier encourage the use of 811 "Call Before You Dig" service for contractors, businesses, and homeowners to help locate underground utilities and services prior to working at a site.
