SC (WMBF) - The Powerball jackpot has again been adjusted, this time to $500 million, with a cash payout of $337.8 million.
"The adjusted jackpot is an indication that Powerball® players from coast to coast are feeling the excitement," lottery officials stated. "Ticket sales in South Carolina are brisk."
According to officials from the South Carolina Education Lottery, this Powerball jackpot is the third largest. The $590 million dollar record, set in May of 2013, is the one to beat.
This record-setting jackpot run began on November 12, and has yielded two $1 million winners in South Carolina so far. A South Carolina resident hasn't celebrated a jackpot win in nearly two years, states a news release from the South Carolina Education Lottery.
South Carolina residents who want to take a chance on Wednesday's jackpot must purchase a $2 ticket by 9:59 p.m. Wednesday, for the 10:59 p.m. drawing. You can watch the drawing right here on WMBF News.
