FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Camp Happy Days is giving Valentine's Day gifts to children battling cancer in each of South Carolina's Children's Hospitals.
On Friday, February 13, pediatric cancer patients at McLeod's Children's Wing in Florence will be among those who receive a hand written card, a blinking red heart and Gerry the Giraffe, a stuffed animal who sings.
Children at the Medical University of South Carolina will get their gift, plus as special guest appearance from country music artist, Cole Swindell on Saturday, February 14.
"This is the first time we have given Valentine's Day gifts to the children we serve. We felt that during the winter months before spring this would be the ideal time to bring a bit of sunshine and warmth to these children," said Cindy Hay Johnson, Executive Director for Camp Happy Days. Camp Happy Days is an organization who's mission is to offer support and encouragement to children diagnosed with cancer and their families.
Each gift is $25. Anyone interested in sending a gift to a child, visit CampHappyDays.org.
