Myrtle Beach Police discover meth lab components near 44th Avenue North

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - 44th Avenue North was reopened after Myrtle Beach officials blocked the roadway to respond to a "possible" meth lab, according to Lt. Joey Crosby with the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

First responders from the Myrtle Beach fire and police departments blocked the road between Little River Road and Camelia Drive just before 4 p.m. Monday. Officials responded to 3929 Camelia Drive in Myrtle Beach.

It was later determined that there was not an active lab, but there were some components of a meth lab present, according to Lt. Crosby. The SLED Meth Response Team responded to secure and dispose of the components.

The case is still under investigation, Lt. Crosby stated.
