Darlington County police arrest couple on child neglect charges

Brian Talbott Brian Talbott

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Two people have been arrested after police respond to a home in reference to a missing child's case, revealing unlawful neglect of two children.

When officers from the Darlington Police Department arrived, the mother stated that her 14-year-old daughter had taken the trash out earlier that day and had not returned.

After a brief search of the area, the teenager was found without incident. While investigating, the officers discovered the teenager and her 7-year-old brother were living in unfit conditions.

The house was covered with dog feces in every room, including the beds. Dirty dishes were piled high in the sink, and piles of dirty clothes and trash were throughout the house.

The mother, 34-year-old Tina Segui, and her boyfriend, 25-year-old Brian Talbott, were arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful neglect of a child.

The Darlington Sheriff's Office assisted in this case.
