HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A man has been served a warrant for trafficking a controlled substance after failing to stop for police, according to the Horry County Police Department.
Lionel Peoples was taken into custody at J. Reuben Long Detention Center after the failed traffic stop along Carolina Forest Boulevard on Tuesday,
according to Hannah Wimberly with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Corporal Sonny Collins said, a SCHP trooper attempted to stop Peoples on a traffic violation. Peoples refused to stop, got out of the car and fled on foot. The trooper was able to apprehend him, according to Collins.
Officials at J. Reuben Long say Peoples has additional charges pending at Horry County Police Department.
