Ashley Talley named News Director of WMBF News

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Ashley Talley joins Raycom Media as News Director for WMBF News in Myrtle Beach.

Ashley Talley most recently served as the assistant news director at WCTI NewsChannel 12 in New Bern, North Carolina. Before that, she spent over four years at WSOC-TV, the ABC affiliate in Charlotte, and her career in TV began in Wilmington, N.C., where she was the assignment manager at WWAY-TV3.

“Ashley's knowledge of the Carolinas, her experience in news management and her vision to lead the WMBF News team is the perfect fit. She has an understanding of the stories, issues and concerns that impact our community and knows how to deliver that information to viewers,” said Sarah Miles, Vice President and General Manager of WMBF News.

Talley grew up in southern Virginia, graduated with honors from Brown University, and earned an MFA in creative writing from UNC Wilmington. She enjoys traveling, cooking, tennis and pretty much every activity that involves being on the water.

"I'm thrilled to join Raycom Media, and I can't wait to get to work with the great team at WMBF," Talley said.

    Florence County Sheriff deputies were responding to an assault call Friday when they discovered a victim that had been stabbed. The incident occurred on Palomar Parkway in Florence. Investigators discovered a verbal dispute had resulted in the victim being assaulted and stabbed.
