3 men arrested after police find 260 pounds of copper wire in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Three Dillon men have been arrested after police say they found 260 pounds of copper wire in Marion County.

James Parker, Michael Parker and Jason Parker were charged with second-degree burglary, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.The arrest happened early Tuesday morning when deputies say they noticed a vehicle parked behind a generator building at the Marco water tower on Hwy 301 in Sellers.

While the deputy was checking this vehicle, the alarm at Don's Car Crushing was activated. Don's Car Crushing is located near where the vehicle was. The deputy left the immediate area and waited for this vehicle to leave. While the officer waited, he could hear metal banging and doors closing at Don's Car Crushing. Shortly after, the deputy observed the suspicious vehicle leave. A traffic stop was conducted, which resulted in the discovery of the copper wire.

    A second suspect was arrested last week in connection to the deadly May 25 shooting at the Koyote Saloon, according to Cpt. John Harrelson with the Horry County Police Department. Joey Lee Henry, 30, of Green Sea, is charged with murder.
