1 suspect charged, 1 wanted for armed robbery off CCU campus

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – Police responded to an armed robbery at the Coastal Club Apartments a private apartment complex off the Coastal Carolina University campus Tuesday afternoon, according to school officials. One suspect was arrested and charged Thursday, and police have identified the other suspect, who is still wanted.

On Thursday, the Conway Police Department charged Juquail Crosland, 19, with armed robbery in connection with the case. As of Thursday afternoon, he was in J. Reuben Long Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.

Conway Police have issued an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Jarrell Lorenz James for armed robbery. Anyone with information on James's whereabouts is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency or Conway Police.

The Conway Police Department has opened an investigation into the crime, according to a news release issued by Lieutenant Selena Small. The reported crime happened just after 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim told Conway Police that an acquaintance of his, later identified as Crosland, and another subject came to his apartment to play video games. The victim stated that after a few minutes the subject he had never met pulled out a gun and robbed the victim's apartment of several items. According to the victim, the subject then ran out of the apartment in an unknown direction.
