WMBF Investigates: Stoppin' Poppin' Pills

(WMBF) - They're dangerous, they're deadly, and they're probably in your house right now.

“It creates an extremely dangerous situation,” says Major Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff's Office. “We've seen a tremendous increase…”

Twenty people died last year from prescription drug overdoses in Florence County, according to officials. The Sheriff's office says this type of crime is hard to catch, because at some point, the drugs came from a reliable source.

WMBF News investigates a growing concern in one local community, and what's being done to stop it before it gets worse.
