Officials bust gambling suspects in Darlington County

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Two people have been arrested in connection to gambling, Darlington County officials said.

Anthony James Brown, 62, and Debra Ann Brown, 49, were arrested at Brown's Paradise, located in the city limits of Darlington.

Officials charged the pair with operating a gambling house, keeping a gambling house, unlawful games and betting, use of punchboards for gambling, betting, pool selling, book making and the like are prohibited, unlawful storage of liquor or possession in place of business, and unlawful possession of liquor.

Darlington County officials said they seized three bottles of liquor, ten cans of beer, $4,034 in cash, two guns, a security system and multiple gambling tools and devices from the location.

The Browns were taken to the Darlington County Detention Center without incident.
