HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Police are asking for the public's help locating a 63-year-old man who has been missing from Longs for 10 days.

Danny Atkins has not been seen or heard from since Monday, January 19, according to a news release from the Horry County Police Department. Atkins suffers from health issues that may cause him to become disoriented.

Atkins's vehicle was found on Hickman Road in Tabor City, North Carolina on Thursday, January 22.

A family member told police that Atkins lives by himself and has no other family in the area. The family member usually talks on the phone with Atkins every day because of his health issues.

Police have checked at Atkins's home and at two local hospitals, but did not find any sign of him.

Atkins is described in the police report as a 5-foot-9-inch tall white male, 220 pounds in weight, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Horry County Police Department, 843-248-1520.
