HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Horry County Police Department announced a partnership with additional manpower from five agencies to combat a recent string of brazen crimes.

“We recognize that the recent string of armed robberies and the murders of two convenience store clerks is very disturbing and troubling to the citizens of Horry County. We want to assure everyone that we are using all of our resources to get the responsible offenders off the street,” said public information officer Lt. Raul Denis.

In addition, the department assigned a task force dedicated to armed robberies.

“Now, because of the generosity and professionalism of our local law enforcement agencies, we are getting additional manpower from the Horry County Sheriff's Office, the Conway Police Department, SLED, the SC Highway Patrol, and the Solicitor's Drug Enforcement Unit, to dedicate to these cases and to the deterrence of future robberies.”

While the Horry County Police Department said it cannot discuss certain parts of an investigation with the community, as it would compromise combined efforts; “Nonetheless, you should feel confident that your police department is doing everything within its power to make everyone safe.”

The Horry County Police Department still needs your help. If you have any information about these robbers, please call us at 843-248-1520 or call our Tip Line at 843-915-8477 (915-TIPS). Anonymous tips are accepted and investigated.
