MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Customers of BB&T bank may have gotten a shock when they checked their balance today: due to a processing issue Tuesday morning, some clients' accounts showed incorrect balances or funds not available, according to a Facebook post by the bank.
"We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you," BB&T representatives stated on their Facebook page Tuesday afternoon. "We are working quickly to address the matter and the issue should be corrected later today."
The bank assured customers that they would refund any overdraft fees that are incurred due to this issue.
Several Facebook users replied to the post with their own apparent experiences Tuesday morning.
"Yeah, I got an overdraft notice via text alert and I was confused. Right now my balance shows a negative $165!" stated Facebook user Rita Mallett-Juracka.
