Wintry weather cancels several flights at MYR

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - More than 3,000 flights along the East Coast have been canceled as a blizzard bears down on New York and winter weather grips the northeast.

On Tuesday morning, Spirit flight 921 from New York, set to arrive at Myrtle Beach International Airport at 1:37 p.m., was canceled. Spirit flight 300, set to depart for New York at 9:08 a.m., was also canceled.

On Monday night, Flight 126 to Boston from MYR was canceled. The flight originated in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and flew into Myrtle Beach at 9:49 p.m. Travelers were expected to be stuck in Myrtle Beach until flights resume to Boston.

The Spirit flight from MYR to Atlantic City was also canceled. Another direct flight, Spirit Flight 300 from MYR to LGA (LaGuardia NYC) was canceled.

In the Pee Dee, no flights have been affected, at this time.

Although, the Florence airport does not have any direct flights, currently. Most flights fly through Charlotte.
