MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Coastal Leadership Academy will celebrate National School Choice Week by taking the entire school to the SC Statehouse.

National School Choice Week chose SC as its focal point for this year's national rally. On Tuesday, January 27, at 6:30 a.m. Coastal Leadership Academy, a tuition free public charter high school, will take its students, teachers, parents and volunteers to Columbia to participate in the rally. The students will perform in a flashmob dance. “We are excited to be a part of the celebration as we welcome a new Superintendent of Education and show the nation that South Carolina values a choice in education for all the students of our state,” says principal Melinda Tavernier.

Following the rally, students will have the opportunity to tour the Statehouse and participate in historic activities. The trip was funded by National School Choice Week.
