Myrtle Beach Police Department debuts social media presence

The Myrtle Beach Police Department announced it will use social media to disseminate information about crime issues, crime prevention programs, special events and police department activities. MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Myrtle Beach Police Department announced it will use social media to disseminate information about crime issues, crime prevention programs, special events and police department activities.

“It is our goal that these platforms will enhance communication between the Myrtle Beach Police Department and our citizens and visitors,” said public information officer Lt. Crosby.

The department said it also plans to use the platforms to advise motorist of major accidents, traffic congestion, and other road hazards.

“These platforms will allow our agency to have constant communication with the people of the community. We can put out pertinent information regarding a case very quickly and make it available to a large audience,” Crosby added.
