LORIS, SC (WMBF) – Daisy Elementary School hosted a charity basketball game Thursday night to benefit a young girl who is battling cancer.

Alanna Ford, a 10-year-old 4th-grader at Daisy Elementary, was diagnosed with leukemia in October of last year. She went through chemotherapy, was in remission until this year, according to Principal Michelle Dunsford.

Dunsford said the family is trying to raise money for Alanna's medical bills, and she is currently preparing for a bone marrow transplant, meaning a 30-day prep period plus at least 100 days in the hospital afterwards.
