Win $1,000 a day for life in new lottery game

SC (WMBF) - The Multi-State "Lucky for Life" game is coming to South Carolina.

The game is already offered in six New England states and SC's lottery is one of nine state lotteries that will join "Lucky for Life." The $2 tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, January 27 and drawings will take place on Mondays and Thursdays at 10:35 p.m. The first drawing will be on Thursday, January 29.

To play the game, players select five numbers out of 48, and choose a "Lucky Ball" number from one to 18, or players can choose a quick pick. If a player matches all six numbers, they will win the top prize of $1,000 a day for life, or they can take a one-time cash payment. According to the SC Education Lottery, the odds of winning the top prize are about one in 30.8 million.

There are eight other ways to match and win prizes. If a player matches five numbers drawn, they will win $25,000 a year, for life. In the event that there are multiple prize winners at the 5+1, the 5+0 and the 4+1 prize levels, the value of the prize will be divided. The odds of winning overall are one in 7.77.
