Police arrest Myrtle Beach man following fatal accident

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A man has been arrested following a fatal motor vehicle accident on November 1, 2014.

The accident occurred at the intersection of 38th Avenue North and Robert Grissom Parkway. The wreck involved a Jeep Liberty and Ford F-150. The Jeep caught fire and the fire department worked to get the driver, Kate Eason, out of the vehicle. Eason was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where she died from injuries sustained in the accident.

After conducting an investigation, The Myrtle Beach Police Department Traffic Unit and the South Carolina Highway Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) determined that Raymond Stallings, 32, who was driving the Ford, was traveling at approximately 91 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone.

Stallings of Myrtle Beach, was arrested and charged with reckless homicide. According to MBPD, Stallings attended a bond hearing this morning and bond was set at $7500 cash or surety.
