MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Apache Pier in Myrtle Beach has been named the coolest thing in the Palmetto State, according to a recent travel report.
YahooTravel mentioned the wooden pier in its "State-by-State Guide to the 50 Coolest Things in America" report.
Apache Pier claims to be the longest wood pier on the East Coast, according to its website.
The travel report named Tail of the Dragon, a curvy road, the coolest thing in North Carolina.
The motorcycle and sports car road dons 318 curves in 11 miles, according to its website.
The winding road, located in Robbinsville, sees thousands of fans every spring, summer and fall and is bordered by the Great Smoky Mountains and the Cherokee National Forest.
