LORIS, SC (WMBF) - Sunday night around 9 p.m., Horry County police officers responded to a panic alarm at the Sunoco gas station off Highway 9 in Loris.

The gas station clerk told police he was closing the store when an unarmed man approached the counter and asked for change. When the register opened, the suspect lunged forward and took money. The clerk said the suspect fled the store, and officers were unable to locate the suspect when they arrived and searched the area.

The suspect is described as a black male about 5-feet-10-inches-tall, weighing about 170 pounds, wearing camouflage pants and a gray sweatshirt. There are no pictures of the suspect available, but anyone with information is asked to call 843-915-TIPS.
