Suspect wanted in connection to armed robbery

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is seeking a suspect in connection to an armed robbery.

The robbery occurred at the Kangaroo Express on 5146, Highway 17 Bypass, in the Murrells Inlet Community of Georgetown County. On January 12, at around 11:45 p.m., the suspect entered the business, pointed what appeared to be a hand gun at the clerk, and demanded money.

According to GCSO, the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel. No one was hurt.

The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark baggy pants, gloves and a bandana covering his face.

    The person of interest in the double-murder and bank robbery in Conway on Monday is in custody. Brandon MIchael Council was arrested in Greenville, North Carolina Wednesday, along with two other people, authorities there confirmed.  Brandon Michael Council was wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of two CresCom bank employees during a bank robbery at the CresCom Bank in Conway on Monday afternoon.
