Multiple school districts delay class Thursday due to cold weather

(WMBF) - So far, the following school districts have altered their schedules ahead of the severe cold weather expected Thursday morning:

-Florence School District 1 will operate on a two-hour delay on Thursday. Elementary schools will start at 9:45 a.m., middle and high schools will start at 10:30 a.m. More details here: http://www.wmbfnews.com/story/27783336/florence-school-district-one-to-operate-on-2-hour-delay-thursday

-Florence School District 3 will operate on a normal schedule, but all after-school activities have been canceled on Thursday, according to an e-mail from district representatives.

-All Florence School District 4 schools will operate on a two hour delayed schedule on Thursday, January 8th. Details here: http://www.florence4.k12.sc.us/pages/Florence4

-Schools in the Williamsburg County School District will be delayed by two hours for students and one hour for staff on January 8 due to the inclement weather, according to school officials.

-Brunswick County Schools will operate on a one-hour delay Thursday due to the cold weather, according to the district's Facebook page.

-The Public Schools of Robeson County posted the following notification on their website:

Due to inclement weather, there will be a 2 – hour delay for all PSRC students and staff on Thursday, January 8, 2015. This delay includes early morning Primetime childcare. No End of Semester testing will be administered at the high school level.

-Georgetown County Schools will be delayed by two hours for students on Thursday, but school and district employees will report to work on their regular schedule, according to an e-mail from district officials.

-Marlboro County School District will operate on a two-hour delay for students. Employees will report to work at the regular time, according to district officials.

Bus pick-up schedules will operate on a delay and buses will operate on all normal routes. Classes will dismiss at the normal time unless otherwise announced. There will be no breakfast served, but lunches will be served throughout the district.
